St. Bernard Church is located in the landscaped location in front of Sasso di Musso, in the province of Como, at a hight of 1105 meters above sea level. Its structure dates from 18th century but it has been restructured in 1970 with the new porch in chestnut wood, slate and the renewal of the indoor rooms and the Sacristy’s floor.
Visiting the little Church visitors can enjoy the breathtaking landscape on Lake Como, Monte Legnone and Albano Valley. Traditionally, every summer, the first Sunday after St. Rocco, there’s the celebration dedicated to the patron St.Bernard, where many people comes from the near villages.
A great way to enjoy this location is by making a peaceful hike of a mountain bike tour from Croda close to Sasso di Musso, following paths and muleteers which links St,Bernard Church with St. Euphemia Church. From St.Bernard is possible to reach Bregagno Mount.

St. Miro Church in Sorico, Como province, is a little Church in Romanesque style of the 13th century. It’s at 319 meters above sea level on St. Michael hill. In the past it was dedicated to St. Michael and of the previous building there are some frescos of the 14th century and a single window. The Church in the 16th century was dedicated to St. Mir, whose body was found inside the chapel.
When Miro died in 1381, he was buried in the Church and the tumb became place of pilgrimage for the pray against the drought. From 1452 it has been subjected to renewals, at the and of 19th century there was the discovering of some important frescos under layers of lime of the medieval times and later with the destruction of a wall, the old access to the chapel was found.
A legend says that St. Miro came to Sorico walking on the lake on his cloak.
The Church is reachable by a muleteer from Antica Via Regina, it’s opened only for religious services.

St. Bartholomew Church in Domaso, dated 1247 and probably built on a previous structure in Romanesque period is a building in seventeenth-century style, it has a single aisle structure and chapels on sides. From 1724 it has been subjected to renovations and transformations which totally cancelled the Romanesque style.
The inside keeps many artworks, for example a bas-relief representing The Piety of Rodari Brothers, an altarpiece of The Lady and Jesus between St. Paul and Peter of the painter and frescoes of the Chapel commissioned from the spanish governator Luigi Panizza.

The Santuario della Madonna delle Lacrime (Shrine of Our Lady of Tears) is located in Bellano on Lake Como, exactly in the village of Lezzeno.
According to tradition on August 6th, 1688 a local farmer on his way home was passing in front of a chapel where a round plaster image of the Virgin was placed. After saying his prayer, the Hail Mary, he surprisingly noticed that Our Lady was crying tears of blood. Immediately he ran to warn his relatives and the priest who then warned the bishop in Milan. Two years later on August 6th, 1690 the first stone of the Sanctuary was laid. In it there’s a niche above the altar where is placed the round plaster with the image of Mary.
The Sanctuary of Lezzeno rises above a panoramic hill overlooking the lake.
It has an elegant Baroque facade, simple and clean with a few decorations. Next to the church, on the right side, there is the bell tower.
Inside there’s a single nave richly decorated with marble (including the black marble of Varenna), stuccos and paintings. Behind the altar there’s a rich collection of votive offerings.
The sanctuary is surrounded by a large square accessible using two staircases. The northern one is enriched by seven tabernacles with modern mosaics representing the Sorrows of Our Lady.
From the sanctuary going up to the left along a wide cobbled mule track, it’s possible to reach in just a few minutes the Cappella del Miracolo (Chapel of Miracle). It was built in 1888 to celebrate the second centenary of the event. Inside it is the original shrine with a replica of the round plaster now placed above the main altar of the sanctuary.
A large indoor hall welcomes the visiting pilgrims, with tables for lunch and toilet, and at the back of the church there is a nice playground for the children.
The sanctuary is always open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Madonna del Ghisallo Sanctuary and Cycling Museum are located in Magreglio in the province of Como, on a hill which is very popular among bikers and has been home of many famous competitions; here there’s a beautiful landscape on Lake Como.
Ghisallo’s hill links Valassina with the high part of the Lake. On the top at 754 meters above sea level, there’s a small church: Madonna del Ghisallo Sanctuary. A legend says that its name comes from a certain Ghisallo, which was attacked by robbers and wanted a Church to be built there. It keeps important relics about the world of cycling.
Ghisallo can be reached by two sides, but the most popular among bikers is the road coming from Bellagio, which is the hardest one. It starts with an uphill which is 4 kilometers long, than there are 3 kilometers of flat road and a final uphill of 1,5 kilometers until the top. The total ascent is about 500 high-meters. Ghisallo’s uphill is known for some important competitions like “Giro di Lombardia” or “Giro D’Italia” for this reason Ghisallo is a popular destination, as it is patron of cycling. Near the sanctuary there is the Biker’s Monument, designed and made by the sculptor Elio Ponti.
It’s worth seeing this location to discover new beautiful spots in the nature while doing sports outside and trying the typical cuisine. The Museum, founded in 2006 by the biker Fiorenzo Magni, is dedicated to the bike world and for this reason it promotes this sport with all its values and memories. It has 3 floors and it includes a collection about cycling like the one of “Pink Jersey”
The museum is open from the first Saturday of March till the first Sunday of November every day from 9.30am to 5.30pm.

Youngsters from 9 to 17 years: 3 euros
