The Proloco di Mandello del Lario offers a program of film screenings at the “F. de Andrè” Cinema Theater in Mandello for the autumn season.
The shows start at 9pm and the ticket costs € 5 per person.

On the evening of Friday, January 11th, the music in friendship will be organized by the municipality of Esino Lario, in which the young talents of the Central Music School of Moscow will perform.
During the evening, which will take place at the “Val d ‘Esino” cineteatro from 9 pm, the city of Myshkin will be presented, with which Esino Lario has signed a cultural collaboration agreement. Admission is free.

On Wednesday, January 2, the Library of Abbadia organizes for the day of peace, reading passages taken from “The Great Sun of Hiroscima” by Karl Bruckner, to learn about the story of Sadako Sasaki and the legend of the thousand paper cranes .
The reading is suitable for adults and children from 8 years. At the end, origami workshop for the construction of the crane. All the cranes made will be sent to the city of Hiroshima, where they will be exhibited at the Children’s Peace Monument. Anyone who wants to join this message of peace will be able to deliver his crane to the library in the following week.
Participation is free, and the event takes place in Via Nazionale, 93.
Saturday, Jenuary the 6th the Pro Loco and the Municipality of Varenna organize an hunting of the Epiphany reserved to children till 10 years old.
Children have to search for Epiphanies scattered in the city and pick up the sweets: after finding 8 of different colours and flavour they have to return at the Portico and deliver them to the Epiphany. The first 20 will recive the traditional socks with a lot of surprises.

Tradizionalmente con Sant’Ambrogio e l’Immacolata Concezione si dà inizio al periodo di festività natalizie, per questo, le amministrazioni comunali di Crandola Valsassina, Margno e Taceno – in collaborazione con la rete di imprese Montagne Lago di Como – distribuiranno, da sabato, un volantino con tutti gli eventi dell’Inverno 2018 -2019. Il week-end dell’immacolata sarà caratterizzato, sabato 8 dicembre, da una manifestazione per bambini in piazza Margno, evento organizzato dalla Pro Loco, e domenica 9 gli amici di Vegno organizzano i mercatini nel piccolo borgo del comune di Crandola.
Anche quest’anno i tre comuni dell’Alta Valsassina: Crandola Valsassina, Margno e Taceno – dichiara Giulio Giumelli, assessore al turismo di Crandola – si sono uniti per organizzare alcuni eventi nel periodo che va dal 27 dicembre 2018 al 2 gennaio 2019. Un’esperienza – prosegue Giumelli – di collaborazione reciproca fra le varie realtà, che è nata nell’estate del 2017 e che intendiamo continuare per rendere il nostro territorio sempre più attrattivo, cercando di superare l’antico individualismo per cogliere maggiori opportunità. Ci siamo sempre posti l’obiettivo di ampliare la stagionalità delle presenze – sottolinea Giumelli –, garantire una offerta culturale e ricreativa diversificata e garantire importanti servizi per le famiglie ed i bambini che decidono di passare l’inverno in Alta Valsassina.
Le note del Coro “Voci nel Tempo”, venerdì 28 dicembre alle 21 nella chiesa parrocchiale di San Bartolomeo a Margno e le note delle fisarmoniche accompagnate dai canti popolari, mercoledì 2 gennaio alle 20.30 presso l’antico lavatoio della frazione di Vegno, risuoneranno nei centri storici dei nostri paesi – conclude Luca Tagliaferri consigliere comunale di Margno – creando un’atmosfera di festa e recuperando il senso della tradizione ed il valore di una comunità che riscopre il piacere ed il gusto dello stare insieme.

On Sunday 8th December, the municipal administration, the Dervio Library and the Lake Como Mountains business network, the Pro Loco of Dervio and the Corte Drago organize the traditional “Return to Corenno” event.
The day will let you experience the flavors of the past with cribs, music exhibitions and markets.
There will also be a medieval show, the lighting of lights and a crib.
There will be activities and entertainment for both children and adults.
It will also be possible to admire Corenno from the lake, with a few minutes on the “Lucia” boats.
