The Amici di Vimogno Group organizes the traditional feast of Sant’Ambrogio for Friday 6th and Saturday 7th December.
Friday evening will be animated by the traditional bonfire, Saturday will instead be accompanied by the S. Mass which will be followed by the chance to taste cake and tripe.

Manzoni Itinerary is a tour winding in and around the city of Lecco touching the most significant places in the life of the famous Alessandro Manzoni and his novel ” The Betrothed “.
It is suitable to students and to those willing to deepen the study of Manzoni and his work. It is also an opportunity to explore the city and its surroundings.
The tour starts from Villa Manzoni , the historical residence of the family, with a visit to the Museum of Manzoni. In a few minutes it’s possible to get to Piazza Manzoni and its famous monument. From there move on to the Church of the Convent in Pescarenico , identified in the novel as the place where Fra Cristoforo and Fra Galdino lived. Next step is Ponte Vecchio , site of the famous ” Addio Monti “. There are two buildings shortlisted for the title of Lucia’s house : one is in the Olate district while the other is in Acquate. Between these two districts , on the Zucco promontory , it’s located the place where it was Don Rodrigo’s mansion. The area is not open to public as a private villa was built in the 30s during the last century.
An alternative to the main tour allows to get close to the Innominato Castle which is located in Vercurago in the hamlet of Somasca , on a natural hill dominating the whole Lake Como area.
Villa Manzoni opens on Monday 10 April 2023 and can be visited on Tuesdays from 10.00 to 14.00 and from Wednesday to Sunday from 10.00 to 18.00. It is closed on Monday. For info about guided visits write to villa.manzoni@comune.lecco.it.

The Municipality of Morterone and the Cultural Association “Morterone Friends” organize Friday, June the 2th the Feast of the Big Little Italy with a beauty walk in Morterone.
For the occasion will be open the museum of contemporary art, and the program is the following:
Val Biandino develops from the village of Introbio to north-east , reaching up the slopes of Pizzo dei Tre Signori and the Orobie on Bergamo and Valtellina sides.
Go up from Introbio along an easy accessible road, that skirts the creek Troggia , slightly ascending and in about two hours you will be at the entrance of the valley. Some mountain huts offer transport service by four wheel drive.
Once at Bocca di Biandino and Tavecchia mountain hut , the valley opens to its visitor : large , wild and untouched. In a few minutes the Madonna della Neve Sanctuary and the namesake mountain hut can be reached and the view opens over the Pizzo dei Tre Signori massive.
Accompanied by the whistling marmots it’s impossible not to go any further until Lake Sasso with its blue-green water , where in summer you can still find snow.
Val Biandino is the starting point of many trekking itineraries , to the Pizzo dei Tre Signori summit , to Passo del Toro and Piani di Bobbio , to Valvarrone and the mountain huts Varrone and Santa Rita and to Pian delle Betulle. Several are the mountain huts where to stop or stay overnight when undergoing longer excursions, or simply to enjoy the experience of living at high altitude. The mountain guides and the mountain huts also offer summer and winter excursions with snowshoes or ski touring.

Confirming that the area is strategic for military defence, Montecchio North Fort was built in just a few months close to the First World War. It is one of the best preserved fortesses in Europe.
It was built by digging the rock to make way for buildings in concrete and stone to defend the northern border to Switzerland. In the southern building are the kitchen, the warehouses and the latrines, while the impressive northern building, with strong walls and a concrete roof over one meter thick, houses the orderly room, the command, the infirmary, armory and housing for officiers and troops.
The Montecchio North Fort , alongside Fuentes Fort , is a step of Forts’ Trail in Colico.
The Fort is in Via Alle Torri, 8. It is open form 10am till 5pm on saturday and sunday. It is open every dai in july and august and half september. The visits are every hours from 10 (10, 11, 12, 13 – 14, 15, 16, last visti at 17) only with guide (included in the ticket). Groups are composed by max 25 persons per hour.
The ticket cost € 7 for adults, € 5 for children from 6 to 17 years old, while for children up to 5 years old the ticket il frre.
In the neighbourhood, there is also the Fuentes Fort. For this reason it is possible to buy a cumulative ticket for the visit of two Forts at € 10 for adults and € 6 children from 6 to 17 years old

The Natural History Museum and the civic Planetarium are two structures located in Palazzo Belgioioso in Lecco, a well-structured museum complex offering visitors the opportunity to trace the economic, social and environmental history of Lecco.
The natural history museum shows the natural environment of the area reviving the scientific culture of the late XIX century. Its visit is guided by panels and captions about the ecosystems of the area and the ecological behavior of the main animal species within the zoological collections.
The museum consists of nine rooms and each one presents and treats a specific theme ranging from birds to insects up to minerals.

The civic Planetarium instead is one of the best facilities of the kind in Italy. Its dome is eight meters wide in diameter and has a 62 seats capacity. It reproduces the sky appearance as visible to a naked eye.
The planetarium simulates the sky as it is really visible from any point on Earth and at any date with perfect visibility conditions.

Nella serata di venerdì 2 ottobre ci sarà, a Ballabio presso il Centro Monte Due Mani, a partire dalle ore 21, un concerto per il centenario della Grande Guerra, a cui parteciperanno il Coro Grigna dell’A.N.A. Sezione di Lecco, e i Vous della Valgranda.
Durante la manifestazione sarà possibile visitare la mostra di foto d’epoca e partecipare alla prezentazione frontiera Nord “Linea Cadorna”.
La serata viene organizzata con la collaborazione del Rifugio Griera, il Rifugio Roccoli Lorla e l’A.N.A. Sezione di Ballabio.
A partire da domenica 4 ottobre,e per le tre domeniche successive, le Guide Alpine del Lario e delle Grigne organizzano un corso di arrampicata, che durerà per tutto il mese di ottobre, aperto a tutti coloro che desiderano avvicinarsi a questo sport, per passione o per curiosità.
