Pian delle Betulle (mt 1501) is a mountain destination in Alta Valsassina, nowadays still inhabited all year round by a small group of residents, who can reach it via cable car from the village of Margno. Here in fact cars cannot arrive: is possible to get here only by cable car or on foot from Alpe di Paglio, from Margno and from Crandola.
Over the years it has earned the nickname of Last Paradise: an isolated and quiet place, where nature is respected and preserved, with an alpine lake, the Alpinis’ church and the small houses harmoniously integrated within the landscape.
Surrounded by beech and birch woods and dominated by Monte Cimone, it is popular among tourists and hikers all year round. Splendid are the views over Lake Como and Lake Lugano and further up over the Monte Rosa mountain range.
Here there is Albergo Baitock, with a very goog restaurant nearby the church with his typical dishes of mountain cuisine.
In spring and summer it is the perfect place for families’ relaxation, who can lay on the green meadows, walk to discover the small pastures or enjoy the adventure park on the trees, named Jungle Raider Park. For sportsmen it is the starting point for trekking and mountain biking of various difficulty and length.

Vezio Castle stands on a promontory at the bottom of Val d’Esino, overlooking the village of Varenna, one of the most popular tourist destination on Lake Como.
It has ancient origins: it used to be a Roman fort in the fifth century, then developed around a crenellated tower with a square base, from where a well preserved drawbridge is still visible. The walls have three open towers and high walls, surrounded by green vegetation typical of the lake, with beautiful views over the surrounding mountains. The legend tells that the construction of the castle took place after the will of Queen Teodolinda from the Langobards tribe who spent in these areas the final years of her life.
Vezio Castle hosts a falconry and a health and training center for birds of prey, and in the garden are organised show recalling the atmosphere of the past, among falcons and falconers. In the Vezio Castle tower is possible to visit the permanent exhibition about Lariosauro, the ancient reptile that lived in the lake, with casts of the various speciments found in the surrounding area.

Villa Migliavacca dates back to the twenties of the‘900 and was built by Antonio Migliavacca, a well-known character in the Milanese scenery, frequently coming to Valsassina. He was a pioneer of the tourist development of the valley.
The beautiful building is located downtown in the village of Introbio and it has been designed recalling the particular style of the classic ‘400 in Milan a sample of which is the Sforzesco Castle in Milan with the distinctive facade made of bricks and interspersed with graffiti.
Surrounded by a high wall still made of bricks, it is located in a beautiful park and it’s accessible through a particular covered staircase.
Currently it houses the offices of the city administration and the Union of the Municipalities of Central Valsassina.
The inside setting is intact and it retains many of the original furnishings. The painting in the meeting room on the first floor is beautiful and it represents the Biandino Valley. The council room has characteristic brick vaults.
Throughout the year various events and exhibitions are held. Recently the celebrations for its centenary were held.
