The village of Dervio on Lake Como is an interesting destination for sailing and water sports lovers or for those who want to approach them for the first time.
Its position on the upper part of the lake together with the presence of the winds Breva and Tivano respectively blowing weak in the morning to the south and more intense in the afternoon to the north, offers favorable conditions to practice these sports, very popular also among foreign tourists. It’s common to see colored sails filling blue stretch of water of the lake.
There are several opportunities to rely on sailing schools, with courses for adults and children, or to try out windsurfing, canoeing and kitesurfing, thanks to various equipment rental shops.
There are also many sports events and regattas at international level taking place throughout the year.
The tourist harbor is a valid operating base and the wide beaches with equipped areas for picnics are the perfect place to spend the hot summer days by the lakeside.
A nice walk runs along the whole Dervio lakefront where bicycle and fitness lovers hang out for a run or people simply seek for peace and a rest sitting on one of the many benches overlooking the lake.
