The Museum of Farming Culture in Colico is an ethnographic museum aiming to preserve and offer to the public a witness of the country life in the late XIX and early XX century documented by founds and material objects.
It dates back to 2007 thanks to an the initiative of the association CIF (Italian Women Centre) and in 2010 it joined the Provincial Museum System.
The museum is organized on two floors: on the first is set up a domestic environment and in the basement are collected objects witnessing various activities on the territory: agricultural, farming and woodland activities (dairy processing, haying, farming, viticulture, cereal), crafts (leather, iron, wool work), women’s activities (spinning and sewing), commercial and public services (school, office, shop).
On the website is also available a section of curious research of intangible assets belonging to the local rural tradition (dialect, sayings, proverbs, nursery rhymes, lullabies and prayers).
The opening is free but upon appointment.

Il Rifugio Bogani, sulla Grigna Settentrionale, organizza per la cena di sabato 10 e il pranzo di domenica 11 ottobre la tradizionale cassola cucinata secondo la tradizione brianzola.

Si svolgerà domenica 20 settembre il 4° Rally Day Valsassina sulle strade della Valsassina con partenza e arrivo in centro a Lecco presso la Canottieri.
La partenza della gara sarà alle 9 a Lecco, dove al pomeriggio è anche previsto l’arrivo alle 17.
Il percorso di 202 km complessivi sarà costituito da cinque prove speciali che sommano 30 km attraverso un itinerario che prevede una prova speciale da ripetersi tre volte, ed un’altra da ripetersi due volte su e giù per la Valsassina, con soste per parco assistenza e riordino a Cortenova.

La Proloco di Dervio organizza il giorno 20 settembre 2015 “La Sgamelada”, gara non competitiva che si svolge in due percorsi: uno dalla lunghezza di 5 km che si svolge interamente nel paese di Dervio e uno lungo 10.5 km che oltre a passare tra le vie del paese di Dervio include anche le frazioni di Corenno e Dorio.
A seguire avverrà la premiazione con ricco rinfresco.
Fully surrounded by greenery, in Esino Lario in the halmet of Ortanella there is a nature trail loop, about 2 kms long, consisting of 16 stations.
Each station is equipped with a signpost in which are reported the exercises to be performed, using the given equipment.
Exercices vary in difficult according to levels identified by a range of colors: yellow (very easy), orange (easy), red (medium), purple (medium-difficult), blue (difficult) and brown (very difficult).
The path connecting the stations is a well marked course displaying red arrows and winding through woods and green meadows.
At the Ortanella pasture, plunged in the green, there are small pond, a few picnic tables and bbq area with grills available to all, a great opportunity to combine fitness and relaxation.

Lierna Castle or Riva Bianca Castle lies on a peninsula outstretching onto Lake Como next to Riva Bianca and the namesake beach.
It’s a fortress built at the Romanesque time which was the head of several historical events , such as the battles between Milan and Como in 1124. It was for a long home of Teodilinda , Queen of the Lombards.
Inside the castle there are the village and the churches of S. Maurizio and S. Lazzaro with frescoes from the ‘400. On the facade sixteenth century frescoes are still visible. They represent the two Saints and inside the church it’s housed S. Maurizio’s relic. He is celebrated here on September 22nd with an impressive ceremony by boat.
On January 22nd , 1573 Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia at the Church of Lierna Castle founded the Order of the Savoy dynasty by issuing a Papal Bull by Pope Gregory XIII. It was named Order of the Saints Maurizio and Lazzaro and it’s still existing at the present time. In its memory is housed there a bronze bell bearing the emblem of the Order of the Royal House of Italy.
The village of Castello is very characteristic with the square and the narrow alleys.
The tour of Riva Bianca Castle can be a stop along the Wanderer’s Trail from Lierna to Varenna.

The Rocca di Bajedo ( Bajedo Rock ) is a limestone blockhead overlooking the Pioverna creek and the provincial road of Valsassina , between Pasturo and Introbio.
On top of the rock wall over 100 meters high , once stood a grim fortress. Nowadays the rock is very popular among climbers who can be easily seen from the road and from the nearby Cycle Path.
Due to its unique location this place , since the old times , has played a strategic role of control on the transits along the valley.
In particular , in the Middle Ages , it was the site of a fortified castle. In the XII century the castle was property of Della Torre family and later on , from 1335 , it became property of Azzone Visconti who laid the fortress and the whole valley under the control of his family.
The fortress was protagonist of some historical events. Venetians in 1447 invaded Valsassina and besieged Lecco : when the siege was broken by the arrival of the troops from Milan , the inhabitants of the valley rose up and Venetians barricaded themselves in the Rocca di Bajedo castle keeping control upon the traffic in the valley. They were driven out only in 1452 by Francesco Sforza , after a siege of a year. The castle was enlarged in the late XV century , and nowadays only a few ruins are left.
But the Rocca di Bajedo is mainly known because of the adventures of ” Lasco – the bandit of Valsassina ” told by Antonio Balbiani in his novel. On the Rocca , in fact , stood his mysterious castle. To find out more about the legend of Lasco, visit the frescoed hamlet of Parlasco.

Il Moto club Valsassina organizza la terza edizione del trofeo”Moreno Mascheri”, gara di campionato di moto trial d’epoca.
Il ritovo è a Barzio in località Pratobuscante (zona Sagra delle Sagre) il 4 ottobre 2015.
Ci saranno due prove cronometrate, la prima a Cortabbio di Primaluna e la seconda a Barzio in località Pratobuscante.
Al termine della manifestazione ci sarà la premiazione dei campioni italiani.
