A classic and well known walk , really suitable to everyone , able to give different emotions in every season of the year. Time needed : approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes, easy.
The itinerary , very popular in summer for walking and cycling , is also suitable for snowshoeing and ski touring. It offers remarkable views over Grigna , Mount Muggio , Pizzo Tre Signori , Valsassina and Lake Como.
Go by car to the car park in Alpe Paglio , from there take the path on the right leading to Pian delle Betulle and reach the nice resort in about 15 minutes walk through the beautiful wood of beech and birch trees. Don’t go towards the small church , but immediately take the path going through the huge lawn , heading straight toward the Grigna. From here the path goes into the wood and in just a few minutes it joins the agricultural , farming and woodland road ; a short detour can be taken to the pastures of Ortighera and Oro.
The road , all exposed in the sun , will take us to Lares Brusaa in approx. 30 minutes. On the way the view is open over the valley and the Lake Como mountains.
Once the Burnt Larch is reached ( in dialect it’s called ” Lares Brusaa “) there are a few picnic tables and a beautiful chapel dedicated to the fallen soldiers with a large lawn , ideal for a relaxing break. From here the view is magnificent.
The first Sunday of August takes place a traditional party organized by the Pro Loco in Crandola , with the Holy Mass and lunch shared with people.
The road continues passing Lares Brusaa and from there it’s possible to reach Alpe Ombrega and the itineraries to Val Biandino , Santa Rita mountain hut , Pizzo dei Tre Signori and Valvarrone.
A nice alternative path on the way back is the ascent from Lares Brusaa to Cimone di Margno ( the path starts nearby the picnic tables ) and then down to Paglio along the ski slope. This itinerary can also be traveled with snowshoes or ski touring.
We suggest an easy itinerary to travel in all seasons. The starting point is in the village of Crandola located in Alta Valsassina: move along the agricultural, farming and woodland road starting at the end of Via Ai Maggenghi, the beautiful pasture Alpe Piazza can be reached in approx. 1 hour.
It’s a path to travel walking or by mountain bike and in winter it is also suitable for snowshoeing or ski touring. Should you wish, it can also be climbed up along the old dirt road cutting across the road.
The road rises gently. In summer it’s well shaded by the trees and it offers beautiful views either over Mount Muggio and the lake, or over the majestic Grigna.
Once in Alpe Piazza there is a small group of delightful little cottages and a beautiful fountain to quench your thirst.
Rise just above them to get to a large lawn with a beautiful iron cross (Merin Cross) and the view opens over Mount Legnone and the Pian delle Betulle can be seen as well.
Every year on the second Sunday of July the Alpini from Margno and Crandola organize a party in the area, with the Holy Mass at the Cross, typical lunch and joyful singing.
From Alpe Piazza it’s possible to move on to Pian delle Betulle (approx. 30 minutes), passing by Alpe Grasso (approx. 15 minutes). All these routes are accessible in winter.
Il giorno 18 agosto la Compagnia di Barconcelli organizza la festa per il 105esimo della cappelletta “Laghitt”. Verrà celebrata la S. Messa alle ore 11.00 presso la cappelletta e in seguito pranzo in compagnia.
L’Alpe Barconcelli è raggiungibile in circa un’ora e mezza di cammino da Premana, lasciando l’auto nel parcheggio di via prealpi, o in circa due ore dalla zona industriale di Giabbio.
I “Laghitt” invece sono raggiungibili in circa due ore e mezza da Premana o, sempre con lo stesso tempo di percorrenza, dall’Alpe di Paglio.

Il giorno 18 agosto la Compagnia dell’Alpe Rasga organizza la festa in località Cant, nei Pressi dell’Alpe. E’ prevista la S.Messa alle ore 11.30 ed a seguire pranzo in compagnia.
L’Alpe Rasga è raggiungibile a piedi in circa 45 minuti, lasciando la macchina nel parcheggio in via Prealpi.

Il giorno 2 agosto si svolgerà la festa in località Nava di Bajedo a Pasturo. Alle ore 11.30 si terrà la Santa Messa ed in seguito pranzo con piatti tipici.

Il giorno 10 agosto, dalle ore 14.00, verrà organizzata a Giumello una giornata in cui tutti sono invitati a portare il proprio acquilone.

Dal 19 al 23 agosto si svolgerà la 1^ edizione Rally della Grigna MTB, percorso in mountain bike che si svolgerà sui sentieri della Grigna per un totale di 213 km.
19 agosto: 1° giorno 38 Km
20 agosto: 2° giorno 68 km
21 agosto: 3° giorno crono discesa
22 agosto: 4° giorno 95 km
23 agosto: 5°giorno crono scalata km 11,5
E’ disponibile il transfer fornito dall’organizzatore dall’areoporto di, Bergamo Orio al serio (15€), Milano Linate (20€) e Milano Malpensa (30€).

Nella serata del 13 agosto verrà organizzata, presso l’Alpe Paglio a Casargo, una serata country a partire dalle ore 19.00. Il programma prevede cena a base di fagiolata e piatti tipici accompagnati da balli e musiche country.

Il giorno 8 agosto verrà organizzata a Concenedo, dall’Associazione Le Contrade di Barzio, la prima edizione della festa a Concenedo, con gare folkloristiche, musica e festa in compagnia.
